Earlier this morning via a press release, Kanye West offered details regarding two of his highly anticipated and much speculated initiatives, the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album and a secretive film that was recently rumored to have been shot in Qatar. The album will be titled Cruel Summerand will be accompanied by a short film inspired by the album. Scheduled to debut May 23 in Cannes as part of the DONDA collective, the “out of competition” film promises “a fusion of short film and art installation” and an “immersive seven-screen experience.” Following the premiere, Cruel Summer will be open to the public for two days.

Here’s a short film about Lego Art which was presented by PBS as part of their Off Book series. Lego’s are not just used as a child’s toy anymore. Some Legos have evolved into pieces of art. That phenomenon is being presented in this latest video segment from the PBS Off Book Series. They talked to three LEGO artists who have made beautiful mosaics, amazing stop-motion videos, thoughtful sculptures, and have turned these tiny building blocks into a true artistic medium.

This time-lapse video from SFMoMA takes you behind the scenes of the exhibition, and lets you watch the renowned artist hard at work over the course of several days as he paints the massive mural.
Following numerous set-backs and criticisms along the way, Calgary, Alberta, Canada recently celebrated the official opening of the Peace Bridge this past weekend. Connecting pedestrians and cyclists across the Bow River, the project was constructed under the direction of Santiago Calatrava and has drawn some significant controversy throughout its duration due to quality impediments and complaints from locals as to the heavy cost of the bridge upon taxpayers. The bright red helix is now officially open for use affording Calgarians easy access across the Bow River.
The Nike Foamposite line has been pretty quite as of late. There is much anticipation building up for some late fall releases including the “Stealth” model and the one shown above. These are the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Metallic Silver/Crimson” which as spotted at Penny’s Vegas Event awhile back. Before the sold out shows, before MTV, and even before the culture of hip hop had taken mainstream root, Brooklyn-born photographer Lisa Leone was carefully documenting the burgeoning movement of musical community through the lens of her camera. “THEN” is a new solo show from Leone featuring those deeply personal photographs of pioneering names like Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige, Wyclef Jean, A Tribe Called Quest, and of a time before hip-hop became what it is today. Each evocative photograph and respective interview captures a unique interaction between Leone and her subject, depicting growing up in Brooklyn on the very cusp of a cultural revolution.
